UPDATE: Woman suffers ‘serious injuries’ in head-on Lowestoft crash
Police are seeking witnesses after a two-vehicle head-on crash in Lowestoft.
A silver Hyundai Matrix car and a red Ford Fiesta collided in Bentley Drive just before 11.40am this morning (Monday).
Police and the East of England ambulance service were called out following reports of the head-on two-vehicle collision, with one person in each vehicle taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston.
'The 64-year-old female driver of the Hyundai - from Lowestoft - has been taken to the James Paget with serious injuries, while a man in his seventies - driving the Ford Fiesta - has also been taken to James Paget with injuries to his arm and a suspected fractured wrist,' a police spokesman said.
The road was closed until 2.35pm while officers began an investigation at the scene.
'Police are asking anyone who may have seen either of the vehicles before the collision or the crash itself to call PC 845 Carter at Halesworth Roads Policing Unit on 01986 835300,' the spokesman added.
