Seven people including three children were injured after two cars collided on the A148 near Fakenham this afternoon (Saturday).

An ambulance service spokesman said a man in his 50s was treated for hip pain and a suspected fractured collar bone, but was conscious and breathing.

A woman in the same car, also in her 50s, was treated for minor abrasions.

The spokesman said the five occupants in the other car – two adults and three children – were treated for minor injuries and whiplash.

She said no-one was trapped in either vehicle.

Two ambulances and one rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene after the call at about 3.25pm, and one ambulance has taken casualties to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.

Two fire engines from Fakenham also attended, making the scene safe with hand appliances and treating casualties.

The A148 in Fakenham remains blocked with slow traffic east bound at Morrisons, and congestion to the A1065 junction.
