A pet Chihuahua that was believed to have been stolen from the garden of a home in Summer Road, Lowestoft has been returned safe and well.
The pet went missing about 3.45pm to 3.50pm last Wednesday, May 14 and family members searching for the dog were told a man had been seen picking up the animal a short time later.
A police appeal was made last Friday (May 16), to trace the pet, and officers confirmed today that the dog had now been reunited with family.
A police spokesman said: 'Yesterday afternoon, Thursday, the dog was returned by a woman who told the owner that she had found the Chihuahua in York Road. She said she had read about the theft and realised it had come from Summer Road.'
