TWO girls who went missing from Lowestoft this morning (Monday) have now been found 'safe and well,' according to police.

'During enquiries conducted by police this morning officers asked a number of members of public for their assistance and asked them to get in touch if they sighted the girls,' a police spokesman said. 'Just before 1.30pm one of these individuals contacted police to say they were at Normanston Park.

'Officers attended and located the girls. They are now being taken home,' the spokesman added.

Thirteen-year-old Jessie and eight-year-old Jodie were last seen in the Tonning Street area of the town around 9am this morning.

They were reported missing about 10.15am this morning and police subsequently carried out searches for the girls at various locations.
