A young child has been in collision with a car close to Great Yarmouth seafront.
The girl, believed to be a toddler, was in collision with a car outside the Hippodrome Circus on St Peter's Road just before 2pm today. A section of the road, which is busy with holidaymakers during the summer seaon, remains closed in both directions.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance was called to the scene and watched by crowds as it landed in the Sea Life Garden, next to the Sea Life Centre on Marine Parade. It left the scene after the girl was taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston by land ambulance.
A spokesman for the service said: 'We were called at 1.55pm today following reports that a child had been hit by a car on St Peter's Road in Great Yarmouth. The child, a young girl, suffered facial injuries, and was taken to the James Paget Hospital by land ambulance. The East Anglian Air Ambulance also attended.'
A spokesman for Norfolk police said their officers were also called just before 2pm, adding that the girl's injuries did not appear to be life threatening or life changing.
