The Broads Authority has launched an investigation after a boat burst into flames and sank after it exploded at Beccles Quay on Sunday.
The 24ft Cleo sank after she had been taken out by her owners, Tony and Alison Tibbett, for a short trip on the River Waveney so they couple could enjoy a picnic.
Mrs and Mrs Tibbett, who are from Carlton Colville, near Lowestoft, were rescued from the burning boat by the occupants of another boat and they were taken to hospital for burns.
Steve Birtles, Broads Authority's head of safety management, said: 'This is a regrettable incident and our thoughts are with the people who were on board.
'We are currently investigating the incident which will hopefully determine the cause of the fire.'
