A 78-year-old woman who was flown to hospital yesterday (Wednesday) following a traffic accident remains in hospital today in a 'critical condition'.

The collision took place on Blakeney Road close to the entrance to Bayfield Hall at just before 1pm yesterday.

A blue Toyota Corolla was travelling towards Blakeney when it was involved in a head-on collision with a silver Porsche Targa travelling in the opposite direction.

Ambulance crews attended to the unconscious 78-year-old female driver of the Toyota who was given pain relief and treatment by land and air medics on scene to help her breathing.

She was later airlifted by the East Anglian Air Ambulance to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (N&N).

A Norfolk Constabulary spokesman said she remained at the N&N in a 'critical condition.'

No other people were injured in the incident.
