A 19-year-old student at the University of East Anglia was left shaken after being assaulted and followed as she walked away from a bus stop.The victim caught a Number 36 bus on University Drive to the stop at the Mitre pub on Earlham Road, where a man also got off the bus and followed her into Wellington Road.
A 19-year-old student at the University of East Anglia was left shaken after being assaulted and followed as she walked away from a bus stop.
The victim caught a Number 36 bus on University Drive to the stop at the Mitre pub on Earlham Road, where a man also got off the bus and followed her into Wellington Road.
He then grabbed her, pulling her towards him. She managed to free herself but the man continued to follow her along Wellington Road, asking for her personal details.
The incident took place shortly after 9pm on Tuesday .
He is described as black and in his late twenties to early thirties. He was nearly 6ft , of medium build with very short, possibly shaven dark hair. He wore dark trousers and a waist length black leather jacket and carried a brief case.
He spoke with a strong African accent.
The man is believed to have boarded the bus at the same time as the woman. Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a man matching this description or been approached in such a manner.
