University of East Anglia staff today blocked the entrance to the Colney Lane playing fields amid fears that travellers who were removed from the site would return.
The Travellers arrived on Monday, May 20 before being served with an eviction notice by the UEA.
They left the site on Wednesday, but UEA staff have blocked the entrance to the playing fields with a vehicle.
A spokesman for the UEA said: 'A group of Travellers arrived on UEA property on the evening of 22 May and notice of eviction has been served.
'The Travellers moved on yesterday afternoon, have not come back, and the area has been secured.'
