Two teenagers hospitalised after north Norfolk coast rescue drama

A warning has been issued for people to stay safe on the water after two teenagers fell off a windsurfing board and were left needing hospital treatment.

The Mundesley lifeboat was alerted to the incident just after 6.30pm this evening (Sunday).

Two 18 year olds were found to be in distress off Bacton seafront after falling off the sailboard. They both suffered shock and had swallowed a lot of water, one more severe than the other, and were taken by ambulance to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital to be assessed.

Brian Hall, lifeboat coxswain, said: 'Please stay safe on the water this summer and if you plan on taking equipment to sea please make sure it is seaworthy, and you are wearing correct safety equipment.'
