Fire fighters rescued two people from a burning building in north Norfolk this morning.

Crews were called to the Wiveton Bell pub on Blakeney Road, Wiveton, at 6.24am following reports of a kitchen fire.

Three appliances attended, from Holt, Sheringham and Cromer, and crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire wearing breathing apparatus.

The ambulance service was called at 6.33am but was stood down by the fire as it was under control and no one was injured.

The call came from inside the building and they were advised on how to stay safe until the fire crew arrived.

Owner of the Wiveton Bell said: 'It was a small incident and the pub is now open again.'

Two people were rescued from separate areas of the building, and the stop time was given as 6.48am.
