Police have arrested two men after the Co-operative store in Market Place, Harleston was broken into at around 4am this morning.

A group of men forced their way into the store through the front doors and stole cigarettes and food items before driving off in a car and on a motorbike towards Eye.

Following a short pursuit of the car, two men, both aged in their early 20s and from the Northampton area, were arrested and have been taken for questioning.

The motorcyclists were not caught and the motorbike is described as possibly being a black Aprilla 125.

The shop will be open later today.
