Two kite surfers have been airlifted to hospital following separate accidents on the Norfolk coast.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance Service's Anglia Two chopper was scrambled after a male kite surfer was lifted by a gust of wind and dropped about 20 feet onto the beach at Heacham, near Hunstanton at about 1pm today.
A spokesman for Yarmouth Coastguard said the Hunstanton Coastguard Rescue Team was sent after being alerted to the incident by air ambulance control and staff in the control room of the East of England Ambulance Service.
The casualty was treated at the scene before being flown to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. The extent of his injuries are unknown.
Meanwhile, in an earlier incident, the air ambulance's Anglia One helicopter was sent to the aid of a kite surfer who was injured after an accident on the sea front at Mundesley. It happened at about 12.20pm. He was also airlifted to hospital.
