A witness appeal has been launched after arsonists started two fires at the same retail area in Thetford.

The incidents took place near to Halfords and Jolleys stores in Lime Kiln Lane, with cardboard being set alight both times.

The first incident took place on June 1, with police increasing patrols in the area as a result.

But the arsonists struck again on Saturday night between 8pm and 9.30pm, with a metal storage crate containing cardboard being set alight.

The fire service attended and extinguished the blaze.

Investigating officer, PC Mark Ellis, said: 'Residents have reported seeing groups of youths in the area and we're keen to hear from anyone who has additional information.'
