Two men have been arrested after three people were stabbed in Great Yarmouth.

Police were called to St Peters Road shortly before 9.40pm following reports of a fight in the street involving a number of people.

Officers arrived on scene to find three people with knife wounds – two minor and one serious – and all three were taken to the James Paget University Hospital for treatment.

Two men, aged 20 and 21, were detained by officers at a property in St Peters Road and both were arrested on suspicion of assault leading to grievous bodily harm.

The suspects remain in custody at Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

A witness, who did not wish to be named, said: 'Armed police, dog units and loads of ambulances are everywhere. Looks like a warzone.'

The ambulance service were called to reports of a disturbance where people had been injured.

Two ambulances, an ambulance officer and an ambulance car were sent to the scene.

On arrival they treated three patients, one who had a serious back injury. The other two patients had minor injuries.

The three patients were conveyed to hospital for further treatment.
