British actor Roger Lloyd-Pack has been named as patron of the Breckland British Film Festival 2012.

Immortalised as Trigger in 'Only Fools and Horses' and as Dr Who's sinister Cyberman creator John Lumic, the talented and versatile actor will attend the screening of 'Tinker Tailor, Soldier, Spy' at Garboldisham Village Hall on March 14. Mr Lloyd-Pack appeared as Inspector Mendel in the film and will take questions from the audience after it has been shown.

Organised by Breckland Council and Creative Arts East, the festival will bring British classics to villages throughout the district.

The festival launch is on Saturday, March 3, when the cult comedy classic 'Withnail and I' is showing at Shropham Village Hall.

Other timeless British classics on offer during the festival include 'The Railway Children', 'Murder on the Orient Express' and Ealing Studios classic 'The Lavender Hill Mob'.

Programmes giving details of the nine films to be screened at rural venues throughout the district can be picked up at libraries, council offices, tourist information centres and from the local promoters of each screening.
