Detectives investigating the discovery of a body in Trunch can confirm the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

The body of a man was discovered in a woodland area close to Mundesley Road by a member of the public on Monday June 27 at about 6.30pm.

Officers believe the man to be missing person 69-year-old Laurence Riach, from nearby Mundesley, although formal identification is still to take place. His next of kin have been informed.

The matter has been passed to the coroner and officers working on their behalf are appealing for information in order establish the circumstances surrounding his death.

Mr Riach was reported missing on Sunday June 26 after leaving his home address in Meadow Drive at about 4pm.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Firm said: "While we are not treating this death as suspicious we are keen to establish Mr Riach's final movements. We know he was seen in The Ship public house at about 6pm on Sunday but this is the last known sighting.

'I would appeal to anyone who may have seen Mr Riach, who was wearing a yellow t-shirt, cream coloured shorts and yellow crocs,i n the time between 6pm on Sunday and late in the afternoon on Monday."
