A man was taken to hospital following an attack by a group of up to six men as he left Tesco.

The 20-year-old was leaving the supermarket in Kilverstone, Thetford, in the direction of Norwich Road with two friends at 2am on March 17.

Five or six white men, believed to be in their 20s, jumped out of a nearby wooded area and attacked the group.

The victim was hit in the face, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head.

He was taken to the West Suffolk Hospital before being transferred to Addenbrooke's in Cambridge.

One of the attackers was described as having short blond hair and wearing a white hooded jacket with a grey check pattern.

Another was wearing a dark green jacket.
