Trains between Norwich and London have been cancelled and delayed because of a trespasser on the tracks in Essex.

Greater Anglia said trains had been disrupted because of a trespasser at Chelmsford earlier today. It meant the 10am service from Norwich to London Liverpool Street had to terminate at Chelmsford and the 12.30pm service from Liverpool Street to Norwich, which was due to arrive in the city at just before 2.30pm, was cancelled.

The 11am Liverpool Street to Norwich train was delayed because of the incident.

Witnesses reported seeing a man approaching a train which was arriving at the station, with emergency services called to the scene.
