Trees damaged at Diss community woodland

A new community woodland in Diss has been struck by vandals who damaged 50 tree saplings.

Police are appealing for information following the criminal damage that happened in Quaker Wood, off Factory Lane, between 9am and 6.30pm on Saturday, May 14.

The 50 staked trees were damaged and an attempt was also made to light a fire in the woods.

The five-and-a-half-acre community woodland was officially opened by famous nature writer Richard Mabey last summer.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Jim Squires at Diss police station on 0845 456 4567 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
