Treasure including Roman and Anglo Saxon coins were among the finds uncovered in Norfolk last year.
The archaeology department at Norwich Castle museum acquired coins found from the last king of East Anglia, Edmund, dating from 855 to 870, a coin forged in Milan under Roman Emperor Theodosius I, and a rare penny of Athelstan, king of East Anglia from 825 to 845.
The finds contributed to a rise in the amount of treasure found in Norfolk from 67 cases in 2010 to 79 last year.
And 2012 could be a bumper year with 26 finds recorded between January and mid-February, according to a report by the castle museum's archaeology department.
