A new mobile service has been introduced to 10 rural communities which have faced Post Office closures.
The travelling Post Office, which is aboard a specifically designed vehicle, will deliver services to people in Bircham, East Rudham, Harpley, Hillington, Sedgeford, Thornham, West Newton, Langham, Field Dalling and Brancaster Staithe.
A new postmaster has been appointed to operate the service.
Matthew Hatfull, Post Office area network change manager, said: “We have continued to work to identify a solution that will enable us to restore services to the local communities.
“We are introducing a Post Office Mobile service, which is a tried and tested way of maintaining service to smaller communities.”
During public consultation the Post Office received 16 individual responses, where feedback suggested an alternative location for the mobile to stop at Harpley which will now stop at the Rose & Crown Pub Car Park in Nethergate Street.
