Commuters have been experiencing train delays this afternoon (Thursday) due to flooding in the Brundall area.

A number of services between Lowestoft and Norwich and Great Yarmouth and Norwich were cancelled.

The line was reopened from 2pm, but Greater Anglia advised that some services may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 10 minutes, or will have to run at reduced speeds.

The Greater Anglia website read: 'The railway line has now been reopened as from 2pm, but trains will be running at a reduced speed through the location affected by the earlier flooding.

'The 14:05 Norwich to Lowestoft was the first departure from Norwich, following this incident.

'We are sorry if your journey is affected by this problem. Network Rail Engineers have worked as quickly as possible to restore a normal train service.'

First Bus services were accepting tickets on their X1 and X2 routes earlier in the afternoon and a rail replacement service was also provided for commuters.
