Train services between Norwich and London are running normally again after a problem arose with part of the track.

Network Rail had to send engineers to Harold Wood, near London, early this morning after part of the track became 'defective'.

It forced the cancellations of the 6.48am train from Norwich to the capital and the 9am return journey.

A speed restriction was also put in place at Harold Wood, causing delays and disruption to other train services.

It meant trains to London-bound trains from Colchester and Southend were cancelled and delayed.

But the problem was fixed by the engineers at around 10.30am - and the line operated as normal.

Greater Anglia apologised for the disruption.
