Rail passengers are facing disruption on the Norwich to London line today.

The delays on journeys between Norwich and the capital are expected to continue throughout the day.

Train operator Greater Anglia is reporting that the problem is due to a broken down freight train between Gidea Park and Shenfield which is causing some lines towards Shenfield, Southend Victoria and Chelmsford to be blocked.

A statement from Greater Anglia said: “Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.”

The operator said: “Greater Anglia and Network Rail are sorry if your journey has been affected by this disruption.”
