A train commuter alerted fire crews to a horse stuck in a dyke this morning near Reedham.

Around 7.42am, a passenger on a passing train called in to Norfolk Fire and Rescue that the horse was stuck in a dyke off Ferry Road, Norton Subcourse.

Appliances from Dereham and Loddon attended along with the Urban Search and Rescue team, but the RSPCA were not required.

By 9.23am, the owners had rescued the horse and no action was needed from the fire crews.
