There are delays to trains between London and Norwich tonight following problems involving a tree branch on the line, after several services were cancelled earlier today because of a signal fault.
Trains travelling on the main line between London and Norwich have been advised to travel at a slower speed after an unrooted tree came into contact with powerlines near Chelmsford just after 6pm this evening, causing delays of around 40 minutes.
Abellio Greater Anglia have said that they are looking to get normal services up to speed by 10pm.
Earlier today, several services were cancelled due to problems with signalling systems at Witham, Essex.
The problem meant that trains from London Liverpool Street towards Chelmsford, Witham, Colchester, Clacton-On-Sea, Ipswich and Norwich were affected.
Cancelled trains from London to Norwich were: 1.30pm, 2pm, 3pm, 3.30pm, 4pm, 4.30pm, 5.30pm and 6pm and from Norwich to London: 2.30pm and 3.30pm.
