A woman in her 30s is fighting for her life after her car crashed into a wall in New Costessey late last night.

A woman in her 30s is fighting for her life after her car crashed into a wall in New Costessey late last night.

Police were called to Norwich Road, near the junction with Dereham Road, at around 11.15pm.

Fire crews had to cut the trapped woman, who was the driver of the car, free before she was rushed to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

She is believed to have suffered serious head and internal injuries and her condition is described as 'critical'.

The woman was the only person in the Toyota Yaris and she was travelling towards the Dereham Road.
