Train services between Norwich and London returned to normal today after problems with overhead power lines in Essex caused delays.

There was a reduced National Express East Anglia (NXEA) train service yesterday and some travellers were forced to use a bus replacement service.

Engineers worked overnight to repair the overhead lines around Chelmsford and trains services returned to normal this morning.

A NXEA spokesman said train services were delayed from noon yesterday because of a defect with overhead power lines in the Chelmsford area.
