Norwich Audi, part of Robinsons Motor Group, has redeveloped its showroom with a substantial investment to enhance the customer experience.

The dealership, at the Thorpe St Andrew end of the southern bypass, can now display 16 new cars, up from 12 and including two halo models, in its showroom while new hard-standing areas in front provide further outside display space. It is now also the area's only Audi Sport Centre – one of just 30 in the 115-strong dealer network.

The redevelopment, which took four months, includes:

Extending the upper floor to create a new working area for the 10 sales executives so the showroom is free of desks and can display more cars. The sales side had also been boosted with two sales support staff to advise customers looking to make a future purchase about the products.

A new six-desk service reception area beneath the new upper floor.

An Audi Sport Centre area for S and RS models with its own customer seating area and car configurator.

A new reception area to greet customers with new customer waiting area. It has workstations with power and WiFi so people can work while their cars are being maintained.

A hi-tech private lounge, behind the customer waiting area, with special lighting for customers to configure cars electronically and display them on a huge screen.

Relocating the handover bay with additional lighting to enhance the experience.

General sales manager Mark Willmott said: 'It has brought Norwich Audi in line with the newest Audi centres in the country in terms of customer experience, furniture and point of sale.

'The way that customers buy their cars is now different – much more interactive. They are doing more research at home, and finding what they want before they visit the showroom, so we have made sure our showroom complements that.

'Audi is the best-selling premium brand in the UK so we needed to make sure our facilities fitted that image,' he said.

The redevelopment comes at a time the Audi range continues to go from strength to strength with the new Q7 luxury sport utility vehicle, RS3 Sportback and a forthcoming 1.8-litre petrol TT. The new A4 range – available to order – will see the saloon arrive in November and Avant in February. November will also see the launch of the new R8 supercar.

Customers wishing to see the new-look showroom will also be interested in strong offers which run until the end of this month.

Mr Willmott thanked customers for their continued support and patience during the four months of work which was carried out as quickly as possible with the minimum inconvenience.

'We hope they will agree that it has all been worth it,' he added.
