Lexus Norwich is launching the new CT 200h, the world's first full hybrid luxury compact car, next week.

The retailer in Reepham Road is holding a VIP Casino Night for invited guests on Thursday, the evening before the CT 200h's official on-sale date. It will be the first opportunity for the many people who have advance orders on the car to see it in the metal. The event will be a fun night for customers with the opportunity to play at the customer casino to win some fantastic prizes including two pairs of tickets to see Kylie Minogue on her Aphrodite Les Folies UK Tour.

On Friday the car will be on view to the general public and from next Saturday Lexus Norwich will be doing an open test drive week for people to come down and look at the car and take it for a drive, but telephone in advance to book an appointment and avoid having to wait.

Lexus is leading the way in hybrid cars with the CT 200h its fourth model to use Lexus Hybrid Drive technology.

The CT 200h, the world's first full hybrid luxury compact car, can run on its petrol engine, electric power at up to 25mph or, with both working in combination, deliver smooth, responsive performance and nearly 70mpg.

From the outset, when designing the CT 200h, style quality and innovative technology were key components. The CT 200h features an innovative remote touch system, that revolutionises the way you interact with the sound system, electronic climate control and full map satellite navigation.

Despite its compact size, no compromise has been made in the levels of refinement and driving pleasure that are synonymous with Lexus. The sweeping lines of the body not only give the CT 200h a dynamic appearance, they play a key part in the vehicles overall aerodynamic efficiency.

The CT 200h has been built on a new platform developed specifically to deliver agile handling, a rewarding driving experience and the level of ride comfort expected of a Lexus. It has a low centre of gravity and features a high-rigidity lightweight bodyshell. Even the height, position and structure of the driver's seat has been precisely determined to contribute to the vehicles balance and enhance the driving experience, ensuring the driver feels in touch with the road.

The CT 200h has been engineered to perform in two different driving 'moods', relaxing or dynamic, which are supported by four selectable driving modes – normal, EV (electric vehicle), eco and sport.

The CT 200h uses Lexus Hybrid Drive technology to ensure the car is always running at maximum efficiency. This returns low CO2 emissions of 94g/km and 68.9mpg combined cycle fuel economy – substantially less than other prestige hatchbacks in the market place. The class-leading CO2 emissions also mean that the CT 200h benefits from a benefit-in-kind tax rate of just 10pc (2010-11) and is the only premium automatic vehicle exempt from the London congestion charge.

The CT 200h, which features in a new star-studded Drum Roll TV ad fronted by Kylie Minogue and featuring 60 drummers, is available to order at Lexus Norwich now – the quiet revolution has begun.
