An estimated 10,000 train passengers were affected by the closure of the line at Ipswich station because of a man who spent seven hours on the roof.
People going to the Latitude Festival, court cases at Norwich Crown Court and freight deliveries were also affected by the incident.
And although the first train between London and Norwich left London Liverpool Street station at 4pm, disruption is expected to continue into the Friday afternoon rush hour.
