A fire alarm at the John Lewis store caused delays for Norwich drivers on Wednesday morning.
The alarm went off in the All Saints Green store at about 8.30am and saw people leave the shop and convene on Ber Street, causing delays for drivers during the morning rush hour with many travelling to work or on the school run.
The situation was made worse due to the temporary traffic lights at the junction with Horns Lane which have been in place since last month due to roadworks linked with the Transport for Norwich scheme.
No fire crew was called to John Lewis as it was a false alarm.
