People living in the Dussindale and Thorpe End area are being warned to avoid a road closure that will start on Wednesday, April 4.
Green Lane North is set to be closed, except for access, for around six days between the junctions of Plumstead Road East and Woodland Drive because new electrical connections need to be installed.
The alternative route suggested is via the Plumstead Road/Norwich Road, on to Broad Lane/Hare Road towards Great Plumstead and then Middle Road and Green Lane North.
There is a �1,000 maximum fine in place for those who ignore the closure.
