The 'shockingly affordable' Dacia Duster is shining bright now that it has arrived at Holden in Norwich.

The flagship sport utility vehicle from Dacia, which is owned by the Renault Group, has hit the UK and the Heigham Street Holden dealership with a price tag of under 9,000, offering new owners outstanding value for money.

Because international demand has been so high for the Duster SUV, right-hand-drive models won't arrive in the UK until later this year, however, Holden Norwich has reserved a prime space in the showroom for a European left-hand-drive version so that customers can get acquainted with it.

The hotly-anticipated Dacia brand is sending shockwaves through the motoring industry and has done for the past eight years in a row with an ever-increasing range of affordable, reliable and practical cars.

Holden general sales manager Philip Miller said: 'Duster offers a whole lot of car for not a lot of money and we are very proud and excited to be one of the first dealers to offer this new arrival to the UK to our customers.

'The 'shockingly affordable' line has been used in all the promotion of the vehicle but it really is the best way to describe the Dacia Duster. I would urge anybody thinking of buying a new car to have a look at what you can get for under 10,000 – I still can't believe the price for the quality, space and equipment on offer.'

The Duster SUV will have a starting price of 8,995, with 4x4 versions starting from about 12,500, several thousand pounds cheaper than comparable models, and offering a car from two classes above for the same amount of money as a city car.

There will be a wide selection of petrol and diesel engines on offer, with the entry-level model featuring a 110hp 1.6 litre 16-valve petrol engine with front-wheel drive.

Its muscular design is both rugged and protective, suited to both off-road and urban driving, and those seeking to add a personal touch to their new vehicle can choose from an extensive range of style and protection accessories, including chrome styling bars and wheelarch extenders.

Ordering for the Dacia Duster is now open with first deliveries in January.
