Horse dies after being hit by lorry and car on A11

A horse has died after being hit by a lorry and a car on the A11 near Newmarket.
Officers were initially called to the crash in the northbound carriageway at 11.55pm last night (January 10).
A spokesman for Suffolk police said: "The road reopened at 12.50am but had to be closed again at 3.30am, when recovery of the dead horse took place and there were two other loose horses in the carriageway.
"Several attempts were made to lead the horses into a secure field during the night, with the eventually being achieved at 8.20am"
Traffic was being diverted through the B1085.
The road reopened at 8.30am.
