Police are carrying out regular high visibility patrols in a Norfolk village following reports of anti-social behaviour.

Residents living in Hingham say they are concerned about anti-social behaviour taking place in the play area off The Fields and Hardingham Street.

Residents have reported incidents of criminal damage and shouting and foul language late at night.

Needles and used condoms have also reportedly been found in the play area and attempts have been made to damage play equipment.

Last night a Norfolk police spokesman said that officers were closely monitoring the situation.

“This type of anti-social behaviour is extremely disappointing, blights the lives of others in the local community and is something we take very seriously,” the spokesman said.

“In response we are holding regular high visibility police patrols in the area to tackle these issues and are closely monitoring the situation. We will deal positively with any incident that come to light and we urge to community to report anything of note to Wymondham Police on 0845 4564567.”
