The future of a north Norfolk youth club has been secured, after a meeting between leaders and town councillors to discuss a handful of young members' unruly behaviour.

Sheringham Youth Zone, which had planned to move from its home at the town community centre following disagreements with the council over damage to fixtures and fittings, is now set to stay put.

Club founder Julie Chalmers said behaviour issues had been dealt with some time ago by the introduction of a 'red card' system.

'After our very successful meeting, we have established that the majority of our town councillors are very supportive of the work we do and of the youngsters, who really want to stay within Sheringham,' she added.

Town mayor David Gooch said: 'We have done what we said we'd do and, after a meeting between two councillors and Youth Zone representatives, the club will be returning to the centre on April 21.'
