With the help of parents and staff at the popular nursery in Mallow Road, children managed to fill a trolley with food and non-perishable items, and this has now been collected by volunteers at Thetford Foodbank.

Nursery manager Emma Brown said: 'The children and their parents worked really hard to collect the items for the foodbank, and we were proud to make this donation. Thank you to everyone for their help.'

Thetford Foodbank is one of over 170 foodbanks providing food to people in need nationwide.

The foodbank provides a minimum of three days emergency food to those that need it most.

It is open between 10.30am and noon on Saturdays at the Charles Burrell Centre in Staniforth Road, and on Fridays between 7.30pm and 8.30pm at the Church on the Way in Churchill Road.
