He opened the batting for the Norfolk Uner-10s side last year and is described by Mr Taylor as a 'very talented and conscientious cricketer' and 'a very useful off-spin bowler'.

The youngster's school does not offer cricket and the grant will be used to help pay for private coaching to help develop his natural ability.

Mr Goldsmith praised Campbell on his 'excellent technical skills' and 'thirst for improvement in all areas of his game'.

And Ciaran has been commended by Mr Taylor for his 'excellent hand to eye co-ordination' and his valuable ability to keep calm under pressure.

Councillors Lynda Turner and Paul Hewett, Breckland Council members for the Shipdham and Scarning ward, said: 'It's fantastic to see so many Breckland youngsters selected for the county team this year.'

The grants will help cover training and equipment costs, match fees and travel.

The three youngsters will soon play for the Norfolk under-11s team.
