THREE men have been charged with attempted robbery after trouble flared in a car park in Lowestoft.

A 29-year-old man reported he had been assaulted and an attempt had been made to take his phone in a car park at Stoven Close about 12.35pm last Friday (January 4).

He suffered swelling and grazing to his face and grazing to his back in the incident. Three men were arrested soon afterwards and they were taken into custody and interviewed before all three were charged with attempted robbery.

Jonathan Quinn, 32, of Henham Road, Mark Patterson, 38, of no fixed abode, and Daniel Banks, 22, of Europa Road, appeared at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Saturday morning (January 5). They have now been remanded in custody pending their next appearance at Ipswich Crown Court on January 17.
