Three fire engines were called to rescue a person from the River Wensum in Norwich on Saturday evening.
Appliances from Carrow, Earlham and Sprowston were sent to Riverside Road shortly after 7.20pm to reports of an individual in the water.
But on arrival the person had already been rescued and was being cared for by a paramedic.
The fire service left the scene at 7.34pm.
