Firefighters were called to a building fire in Norwich in the early hours of the morning.

Crews from Sprowston, Carrow and Earlham were called following reports of a building fire at a property on The Erins, off Denmark Road in Norwich at just after 12.05am today (Monday, May 1).

A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said crews were on scene by 12.09am and were there for about 20 minutes bringing the blaze under control.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets to extinguish.

The spokesman said an “ambulance was in attendance as a precaution but looks as if the property was empty”.
