Over 5,000 bikers have made their way to Great Yarmouth seafront for a celebration of all things petrol.
The Great Yarmouth Motorcycle Takeover is now in its second year and so far has been an even bigger success than last year.
Event organiser Andy McSweeney said there were even more people than last year, and hoped the event would be back next year as well.
He added: 'When have you last seen Great Yarmouth this busy? It's great for the town.'
Bikers have come from as far away as Scotland for the event.
The bikers are expected to boost local trade in the region of £150,000 on the day.
A spokesman for the borough council said they have worked closely with the organisers of this authorised visit, and Norfolk Police, to put together a plan to ensure it happens in a co-ordinated way which reduces the impact on other road users, while still capturing the huge economic benefits that thousands of extra visitors bring.
Road closures
Central Marine Parade, between the junctions with St Peter's Road and Trafalgar Road, will be closed to traffic between 7am and 10pm on Saturday, with a clear signed diversion in place. There will be no direct vehicular access to Marine Parade from Lancaster Road or York Road.
Marina Centre South car park and the closed roadway of central Marine Parade will be designated parking zones for the motorcyclists, who will be guided by traffic marshals. Marina Centre users are asked to use the Marina Centre North car park.
Access along the whole length of Marine Parade will be maintained for pedestrians and emergency vehicles. In addition, the entire landau lane will remain open for cyclists and horses and carriages.
Wheels festival
The event is take place on the same weekend as the annual Wheels Festival organised by the borough council.
Pedal-powered attractions of all shapes and sizes will be joining the prestige, classic and novelty cars along Great Yarmouth seafront for the GY Wheels Festival, over the weekend, July 8 and 9.
Taking place between 10am and 5pm on both days, the free festival is an opportunity for families to get up close to some very special motors, in addition to enjoying other fun activities.
Organised by Great Yarmouth Borough Council and the Wheels Festival committee, the popular festival is now in its third year.
As part of the Pushing Ahead project to promote cycling and walking, Active Norfolk, the county's sports partnership, has arranged a host of pedal-powered fun and cycling confidence building activities, including can-crushing, paint-spinning and balloon-blowing bikes.
There will be learn-to-ride sessions for all ages, bicycle maintenance workshops and an adventure course with bikes provided. Local colleges will be bringing their engineered smoothie-making bikes and blade bikes.
Meanwhile, people will have the chance to ride some really wacky bikes, courtesy of Doc Spinoff and his Tricky Tricycles. In addition, the Extreme Wheels roadshow will be delivering further cycle-related fun, with a mobile skate park and KMX karts.
The GY Wheels Festival is sponsored by Great Yarmouth Borough Council, the Greater Yarmouth Tourism and Business Improvement Area (GYTABIA),
Joyland and the American Diner, Active Norfolk and the Department for Transport.
Gareth Brown, chairman of the Greater Yarmouth Tourism and Business Improvement Area Ltd, said: 'Lots of tourists bring their bikes to Great Yarmouth when they come on holiday as Norfolk's roads are ideal for a leisurely ride and the perfect way to discover tea rooms and cafes off the beaten track.'
Other attractions include bespoke hotrods from the National Street Rod Association, East Coast Pirates Car Club, Lotus Carltons and other big Vauxhall Opel makes from the Autobahn Stormers Club, plus some GT40s.
Classic Car and Bike Run and Show
On Sunday, the Classic Car and Bike Run and Show will take place between Cromer and Great Yarmouth, in aid of Centre 81, which will see around 75 vehicles arriving at Marine Parade for the festival from around noon, followed by judging.
