CRIMINALS failed to remove the card reader from a cash machine in Gorleston, so instead caused 'considerable damage' to it.

Police are appealing after an ATM machine was damaged at Barclays Bank in the High Street in Gorleston, sometime between 10.10pm and 10.14pm on Monday, July 30.

Two men were seen tampering with the machine trying to remove the card reader.

A Norfolk Constabulary spokesman said: 'They failed in their efforts, and did not make off with anything, although they did cause considerable damage to the machine.'
