Thieves stole a black Ferrari 430, worth 170,000, from the car park of a Norfolk hotel last night.

The high-powered sports car and trailer were taken from the car park at Park Farm Hotel in Norwich Road, Hethersett between 8.23pm and 8.29pm after the thieves broke off the hitch lock.

The trailer was towed away by a nearly new, long wheel base white Mercedes Sprinter van.

The Ferrari was produced as a race car for the GT3 series, but is not a road car and cannot be converted into one.

The car, owned by Cheshire man Phil Burton, had been visiting Snetterton race track for a test day.

Investigating officer PC Matt Coppard, of Norfolk police, said there was CCTV covering the car park which was being examined and said he was keen to hear of any sightings of the trailer.

He added: 'The car may have been targeted to be sold to order because it is obviously a very niche vehicle.'

Anyone who has seen the trailer or Ferrari should phone PC Matt Coppard at Wymondham police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
