A town council has selected its new mayor in a close vote.
Terry Jermy was voted in as Thetford town council's mayor elect for 2016/17 during a ceremonial full council meeting last night.
The Norfolk county and Breckland district Labour councillor won by seven votes to six over Roy Brame.
UKIP councillor Denis Crawford was selected as deputy mayor elect.
