The centre of a market town will be turned into a race track for the day as it hosts a soapbox challenge.

Thetford's King Street will be site of the downhill course which will see cars entered from a number of teams - including the Thetford Scouts and employment agency Galaxy Personnel.

The event will be held on St George's Day - Sunday, April 23 - and races will commence at 12pm.

Teams will consist of a driver and four additional crew members.

A pit area will be on the Market Place where teams can showcase their vehicle and raise funds for their chosen charity or good cause.

Food and refreshments will also be available.

Organised by the town council, the Thetford Soapbox Challenge 2017 will also welcome the VXR Nimbus Gravity Race Kart.
