A police cadet had a birthday to remember after her fellow cadets put on a party for her.

Eden King joined the ranks of the Thetford Police Cadets this summer after the group escorted her to her school prom at Lynford Hall.

The teenager, who has muscular dystrophy and uses a wheelchair, was concerned her disability may affect her membership, but cadet leader Sgt Mike Andrew was only too happy to welcome her on board.

Last week as Eden celebrated her 17th birthday, the cadets threw a party for her, complete with a chocolate birthday cake.

Sgt Andrew said Eden is thoroughly enjoying being a cadet and said her parents Rod and Catherine are 'so happy she can join in and is included in everything'.
