A man has been charged with attempted murder following a disturbance at a house in Thetford at the weekend.
Police were called to St Martin's Way at around 1.30am on Sunday morning where a 40-year-old woman was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge with head injuries which are not life-threatening.
Manuel Da Cruz Carnide, 61, of Norwich Road, in Thetford, has been charged with attempted murder, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon.
He has been detained in police custody and is due to appear before Bury St Edmunds Magistrates Court today.
